Joseph

Lakeside Retreat

McLean Southshore, Lake Wylie

Project Overview

We were introduced to the Joseph family by their homebuilder, someone we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside on several previous projects. Those established working relationships are always valuable because they allow the dock design and construction process to coordinate smoothly with the larger homebuilding project.

The Joseph property is located along one of Lake Wylie’s busiest stretches of water, where frequent boat traffic can create significant waves and challenging conditions. Because of that exposure, this stationary pier was designed and constructed with strength, stability, and long-term durability in mind. Every aspect of the structure was planned to withstand the constant wave action and changing conditions that come with living on the main channel.

At the center of the design is a spacious sitting area measuring 12 feet wide and more than 30 feet long. This generous layout provides plenty of room for outdoor furniture, dining, entertaining, and relaxing without feeling crowded. Whether the family is hosting friends, preparing for a day on the lake, or simply unwinding in the evening, the sitting area offers a comfortable place to gather while enjoying beautiful, unobstructed main-channel views.

The dock also includes a convenient 4-by-6-foot storage closet, providing space to keep life jackets, water toys, boating supplies, and other lake essentials organized and protected from the weather. An 8,000-pound boat lift keeps the family’s boat safely stored above the water, while two dedicated jet-ski lifts make it quick and easy to launch the personal watercraft whenever they are ready to ride.

With its durable stationary construction, expansive gathering space, practical storage, and convenient access to multiple watercraft, this dock was designed to support everything the Joseph family enjoys about living on Lake Wylie. They now have a comfortable and functional waterfront space where they can entertain, relax, and make the most of life on the water for many years to come.
